Theodor Seuss Geisel (A.K.A: Dr Seuss) was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on the 2 of March 1904.
1925-
In Ted's first humour magazine called Jack-O-Lantern he published his first cartoon & uses the name
"Seuss" for his pseudonym.
1926-
Ted attends Oxford University where sadly he doesn't earn an M.A (Masters) in English but instead meets
Helen Palmer.
1927-
After a year of knowing Helen, they decide to get married & move to NYC (New York City).
1928-
Ted then creates his very first advertisement called "Quick, Henry, the Flit.
1931-
Helen discovers that she cannot give birth to any children. Ted writes his first children's book called " ABC
of Fanciful creatures", but sadly the book doesn't find a publisher.
1937-
"And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street" Ted's first published children's book. Beatrix Potter says
it's one of the cleverest books she has met with for many years.
1938-
Dr Seuss then wrote & published a book inspired by his growing collection of hats called " The 500 hats of Bartholomew Cubbins.
1939-
The King Stilts, Teds first book that cats play a large role in. Also his first children's book with Random House (the last 2 were originally published by Vanguard).
1940-
Dr Seuss released another book called 'Horton Hatches the Egg'. The famous quotes are " I meant what I said & I said what I meant, An elephants faithful One hundred percent!"
1941-
Seuss published over 400 cartoons as a political cartoonist in the New York Newspaper PM.
1943-
Theodore joins the army's information and education division. Captain Geisel then goes to Hollywood's
"Fort Fox", where he worked with the civilian direction (who are Chuck Jones & Friz Freleng), he creates Private SNAFU who teaches by negative example.
1947-
Dr Seuss' next book is 'McElligot's Pool'. This is the first book published by him in 7 years. Then (in 1948) the book got a Caldecott Honor award.
1948-
Then in 1948 he wrote another book called "Thidwick the big Hearted Moose'' which was published a year after McElligot's Pool.
1949-
Theodore and Helen Giesel then move into the new house in La Jolla, California which now becomes the home they will live in for the rest of there lives. In that
house Dr Seuss writes the sequel to '' The 5000 Hats Of Bartholomew Cubbins '' called ''Bartolomew and the Oobleck''. The next year it wins a Caldecott Honor.
1950-
Now Dr Seuss introduces the word 'nerd' in his new book ''If I Ran The Zoo''. This book then earns Ted's last Caldcott Honor and his second Bestiary award.
1953-
Peter T.Hooper goes around the world putting together ingredients for his "Scrambled Eggs Super''.
1954-
''Horton Hears A Who'' is partially inspired by his previous trip to Japan. A reviewer calls it ''a rhymed lesson in protection of minorities and their rights''.

In ''On Beyond Zebra'' Dr Seuss invents a new alphabet for things that he can see that go even beyond Z.
1956-
''And now introducing the famous, terrific, stupendous, astounding, fantastic, IF I RAN THE CIRCUS!''. This book introduces the Circus McGurkus.

"Cat in the Hat" the first book that teaches kids to read.
"How the Grinch stole Christmas"! The second teaches them that Christmas doesn't come from a mall.

Now comes ''The Cat In The Hat Comes Back''. This book launches Random House's Beginner Books series. Dr Seuss works with Helen Geisel and Phyllis Cerf for the series editors. In this year ''Yertle the Turtle and Other Stories'' also gets published.

1967 has a great deal of disappointment for him and not only for one but two reasons. Firstly his beloved wife (Helen Geisel) dies. And secondly because his first ''Cat In The Hat Songbook'' went down track and stoped printing.

he now publishes his new book called The Foot Book. After he finds a new wife called Audrey Dimond.
